Daniel Lopez, DO has been in private practice since 2010. Through unique mentors that showed him far more than traditional osteopathic education, he developed his own system that allowed him to apply osteopathic principles. Since that time, he has written An Osteopathic Approach to the Eyes book, put together many online courses for professionals, and still learns regularly using the methods taught in this course.

I created Digging Deeper, noticing that osteopathic education claims, “where a patient has pain is not necessarily where the problem is,” but in the end, it does not teach students how to find where the problem is. Seeing osteopaths on social media mocking the idea of a change in one part of the body affecting another made it clear to me that many osteopaths do not see this regularly with their patients. I created this course to help osteopaths or aspiring osteopaths learn an innovative yet simple method that blends evaluation and a clear thought process to help them understand the interconnectedness of the body, and continuously be learning from their patients, so they can stop guessing, make their treatments faster, more efficient, and become more in-demand.

Daniel Lopez, DO is an osteopath who helps other osteopaths or osteopathic students to apply osteopathic principles so that they can better understand what the body is communicating, have more effective treatments, and get better results.
He has over 15 years of private practice experience, including tens of thousands of patient encounters, coached other osteopaths, developed online courses, taught, and published books.
He resided in Aurora, Colorado, with his family, where he enjoys swimming, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family.
I created Digging Deeper because I felt osteopathic education teaches that where a patient has pain is not necessarily where the problem is, but in the end, it does not teach where to find the patient’s underlying problem or a method on how to go about finding it. I believe that the reason is much of the faculty members themselves don’t know how to do that. It has become apparent interacting with other osteopaths that the interconnectedness of the body seems to be a missing piece of their practice. Question: Why do I need this?
Answer: This material is foundational, yet not being taught in current osteopathic education. If you’re not practicing the osteopathic principle of the body being a unit, then the Digging Deeper system can help you. If your method of evaluation doesn’t give you a good starting baseline, then this will help you. If your method does not give you feedback during the treatment about how the whole body is changing, then this will help you. If your method does not give you insight on what is happening with the rest of the body, then this will help you. If you ever get stuck and don’t know what to do next, then this method can help you.
Question: Is this hard to integrate?
Answer: In short, no. The Digging Deeper method can be done in about one minute or two once you are proficient. It can fit in with your current evaluation system or be a stand alone system. One of the advantages to Digging Deeper is that it is done with the patient supine on the table. There’s no need to have the patient moving around into different positions.
Question: Do I have to change my style of treatment?
Answer: Not unless you want to. If you find that your treatments are not as effective as you would like, then you can search for better ways to treat. The purpose of Digging Deeper is not to turn you into me, but to put you on your own ever-evolving path.
Question: Who is this for and who is it not for?
